1. What is Workers' Compensation?

Workers' Compensation benefits may be available to an employee that has experienced on injury or illness while on the job. These benefits include medical treatment costs incurred by a covered injury. Benefits may also include compensation.

2. Who do I notify?

Any injury or illness sustained in the course of employment should be reported immediately to a supervisor and an Injury Report should be completed describing the injury/illness.

3. Where do I get an Injury Report form?

Injury Report forms should be obtained from your supervisor. A supply of forms will be provided to your Town, Village and volunteer Fire or EMS department upon request. Contact the Washington County Personnel Department at (518)746-2250.

4. What is the Washington County Self Insurance Plan?

Workers' compensation for the employees of Washington County, the participating Towns and Villages in Washington County, and the current volunteer members of the Fire and EMS departments in Washington County are administered through the Washington County Self Insurance Plan.
