INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded a report of motor vehicle accident with injury (vehicle into tree) on Geer Road in the Town of Kingsbury on Monday afternoon.

Deputies arrived and located the driver, Andrew C. Raba, with lacerations to his hands. Raba told Deputies that he had been driving at a high rate of speed on Geer Road, lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.

Raba was treated by EMS however refused to be transported to the hospital. He appeared to be intoxicated and failed several field sobriety tests. Raba was arrested and transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward where he was processed and found to have a BAC of .11%.

Raba was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Kingsbury Town Court on a later date. Patrols were assisted at the scene by Fort Edward EMS and the Kingsbury Fire Department.
