INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, a Hudson Falls man was arrested after being stopped for a speeding violation (more than 20 mph over the posted limit) on Feeder Street in the Town of Kingsbury. As Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver made an abrupt turn onto a side street and pulled into a random driveway. The driver exited the vehicle and was identified as Dana N. Ignazio, 50, of Hudson Falls.
Ignazio refused to perform field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and an illegal switchblade knife. He was transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward where he refused to submit to a breath test. He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree (felony), criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, (a class D felony), and unlawful possession of marihuana, along with multiple Vehicle and Traffic violations. Ignazio was arraigned in CAP Court and sent to the Washington County Jail without bail.
