[ARCHIVED] A message from the Sheriff

star

Many of you have heard by now the County has declared an emergency and has closed all but essential services. The Sheriff’s Office road and corrections units are of course still operational but some divisions will be limited.

Civil, Pistol Permit and records employees are working reduced hours which may create delays. We ask that those with related business call the office first as we are accepting approved appointments only.

Jail inmates visits are suspended but we are making arrangements to allow inmates to make extra phone calls. Please know that we are taking every precaution to limit visitors, limit staff contact and interaction while still protecting the public and our employees.

I can assure you that we have put in place safeguards for our staff that will allow us to respond to emergencies and continue to make arrests when necessary to keep public order and citizens safe during this unprecedented time.

Thank you all for your support and understanding and together we will get through this.

 ~Sheriff Murphy
