[ARCHIVED] Accident leads to DWI arrest in Granville

Charges Filed: Driving While Intoxicated .08% or more, vehicle and traffic violations

INCIDENT SUMMARY: 

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Friday November 22, 2019 at about 9:52 pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on State Route 22 in the Town of Granville.      

Deputies located the driver, Jonathyn F. Granger, at the scene who appeared to be intoxicated and told deputies that he swerved to avoid a deer when he lost control of the vehicle. Granger was asked to perform several field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.  

Granger was not injured in the accident and was transported to the Salem sub-station where he tested a .17% blood alcohol content. He was processed and released to a third party to appear in Granville Town Court on a later date.
