INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a several subjects threatening a male subject with a handgun in the Village of Cambridge. Upon arrival, the subject was located on school property and was identified as Joseph W. Davis, age 25.
Upon further investigation it was it was determined that Joseph Davis was in possession of a 9 mm handgun and a concealed metal dagger. The Sheriff’s office arrested Joseph Davis, age 25 for Criminal Possession of Weapon on School Grounds, a class E felony and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, a class A misdemeanor. The investigation determined that Davis is a North Carolina resident and traveled to New York State with an acquaintance.
The case will be forwarded to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office for possible additional charges.
