The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has anticipated vacancies for Special Patrol Officer to work in assigned schools within Washington County. This position involves responsibility for maintaining order and providing a secure and safe environment in schools. 

This position has all the powers of a Peace Officer when performing the duties of protecting property or persons on such premises. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Sheriff. Does related work as required.

*Potential candidates must have the ability to develop positive relationships with children in a school setting and the ability to relate and communicate well with others.

Minimum Qualifications:  Retired member of a Police Department or Sheriff’s Office, a Division of State Police, Corrections, Parole or Probation Officer.

Rate of pay:  $20.59/hour
