[ARCHIVED] 9-1-1 Lifesaver and Meritorious Service awards issued!

The Washington County Department of Public Safety had the opportunity to recognize two of our 911 Communications Center personnel and issue the following Department of Public Safety awards:


9-1-1 Lifesaver Award Issued BROWNCommunications Officer William Brown was issued a 9-1-1 Lifesaver Award for his role as the Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) on a medical emergency call turned cardiac arrest in the Town of Kingsbury in December of 2017. Due to the efforts of EMD CO Brown, the 9-1-1 Caller and responding EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement personnel the cardiac arrest was successfully reversed and the victim recovered! A job well done to all involved!


Meritorious Service Award Issued SchillingCommunications Officer Thomas Schilling was issued a Meritorious Service Award for his role as the handling Communications Officer on a Mental Health / Report of a Suicidal Subject in a South Asian country that was routed to our 9-1-1 Communications Center. CO Schilling diligently worked through the difficult call gathering information, piecing it together to determine the subjects actual location in the United States, getting the correct agency to the call and assistance was rendered accordingly. A job well done to all involved!


We're proud to have the opportunity to recognize the members of our 9-1-1 Communications Center staff for their roles in difficult calls that have a positive outcome for those who rely on our service. Thank You Communications Officers Brown and Schilling, we appreciate your dedication and service!
