According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on February 24, 2018 at 12:57 A.M., deputies responded to a witness report of a male subject that drove into a public parking lot off Broadway and was now passed out at the wheel.

Deputies arrived and located Adam J. Shaw, 35, of Park Avenue passed out at the wheel of his vehicle which was running with open beer cans throughout the vehicle. Deputies were able to wake Shaw up to perform several field sobriety tests. After further investigation, it was determined that Shaw was intoxicated and he was arrested.

Shaw was transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward for processing. He tested a .15% blood alcohol content and due to a previous conviction for driving while intoxicated, Shaw was charged with felony DWI. He was released to a third party and is due in Fort Edward Town Court on a later date.
