According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to 448 South Road in the Town of Hampton for a reported structure fire. In conjunction with NYSOFPC Fire Investigators and Washington County Fire Investigators, the cause is still under investigation. 

One resident survived, and was transported to Rutland Regional Hospital. A second resident was located deceased within the home. The names of the subjects are being withheld to confirm notification of next of kin.
