[ARCHIVED] Fort Edward man charged with rape

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on January 9, 2018 the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Fort Edward man for rape in the  3rd degree, a Class E Felony and endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.

On July 16, 2017 Alger and the victim, a female acquaintance, that was under the age of seventeen, were on a boat ride on the Champlain Canal. 

Alger is alleged to have had sexual intercourse with the female acquaintance. Alger was arraigned at the County Central Arraignment and remanded for lack of $1,000 cash bail or $5,000 secured bail bond.

Investigator Michael McWhorter made the arrest.
