[ARCHIVED] Vermont man charged with felony DWI


According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on November 12, 2017 at about 9:44 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew V. Guadagnino, age 32, of Shrewsbury, VT on two felonies following a vehicle stop on State Route 149 in the Town of Fort Ann.

Guadagnino was stopped for a traffic infraction when the deputy determined he had been consuming alcohol. Guadagnino was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and was transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward where he refused the breath test while being processed.

Guadagnino was charged with failing to keep right, unlicensed operator, felony driving while intoxicated due to him having previous DWI and aggravated DWI convictions in the preceding 10 years and felony aggravated unlicensed operation 1st due to his license being revoked for DWI convictions.

Guadagnino was arraigned and remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility for the lack of $2500 cash bail and has since been released after posting bail.

The arrest was made by Deputy Robert Danko.
