[ARCHIVED] Kingsbury woman arrested after child found wandering

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on October 09, 2017, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Victoria L. Lapan, 21, of Kingsbury for Endangering the Welfare of a Child after an investigation into a report of a 2 year old child that was found wandering outside on Deer Run Drive without any supervision. Deputies located Lapan sleeping in a nearby apartment and it was determined she was the child’s parent and was unaware the child had left the apartment. Lapan was processed at the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Kingsbury Town Court at a later date. The child is staying with other family members while the Washington County Child Protective Services investigates further.

The case was handled by Deputies Kyle Kolar,  Cory Hurlburt and Sergeant Michael Distasio.
