[ARCHIVED] Fort Edward man arrested after incident with child


According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a 13 year old child that had been assaulted. The investigation revealed that James J. Wilson, 42, of County Route 46 in Fort Edward, had grabbed a child he was familiar with by the neck, and threw him to the gorund. Wilson then “stomped” on the child's chest. The child was not physically injured during as a result of the attack.  Wilson was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the 2nd degree. He was processed at the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward and arraigned in Fort Edward Town Court. Wilson was remanded to the Washington County Jail for lack of bail with an order of protection issued barring Wilson to have any contact with the child.

The arrest was made by Deputy Chris Murray.
