[ARCHIVED] Don't let National Preparedness month fade away, Be Prepared!

DPS - National Prep Month (small)

September is National Preparedness Month, and it's not too late to take preparedness seriously, "Disasters Don't Plan Ahead. You Can"!

We should all take action to prepare! We are all able to help first responders in our community by training how to respond during an emergency and what to do when disaster strikes — where we live, work, and visit. The goal of NPM is to increase the overall number of individuals, families, and communities that engage in preparedness actions at home, work, business, school, and place of worship.

There are so many different things we can all do with our family, friends and in our homes, businesses and communities to be prepared in the event disaster comes knocking at our door, here are a few ideas how you can prepare:

  • Make a Plan for Yourself, Family and Friends
  • Plan to Help Your Neighbor and Community
  • Practice and Build Out Your Plans
  • Get Involved! Be a Part of Something Larger

Look for our Preparedness tips and ideas throughout the rest of the month of September (and throughout the year), let's make National Preparedness Month count!
