[ARCHIVED] Putnam man seriously injured in ATV accident

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on June 3, 2017 at 6:46 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 22 inthe Town of Putnam for a report of an ATV accident.

Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies located Randy A. Moore, 57, of Putnam Station with a serious head injury as a result of the accident. Moore was operating his 2001 Polaris ATV along the side of the roadway when he lost control and over corrected causing the ATV toroll over several times.

Moore was flown by medical helicopter to the Albany Medical Center.The exact cause of the accident is under investigation and deputies are looking into whether alcohol was a factor in the crash. It appears that Moore was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

State Route 22 was closed for a time as medical personnel transferred Moore into the helicopter.

Deputies Cori Winch, John LaTour, Sgt. Todd Lemery and InvestigatorMatthew Lohret handled the case. Putnam Fire and Ticonderoga EMS also assisted at the scene.
