According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Greenwich man following an incident in the Town of Easton.
On January 2, 2017 at 12:02 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of an accident on Old Schuylerville Road. Upon arrival, deputies met with a female victim who told deputies that a person knows as Salvatore J. Santaniello, 45, of County Route 70 in Greenwich, had rammed a vehicle he was driving into her vehicle while she was driving on Old Schuylerville Road.
The collision caused damage to the victim’s vehicle and forced her off the roadway. After Santaniello struck the victim’s vehicle, he reportedly drove off. At the time of the incident, the female victim also had a child as a passenger in the vehicle. There were no reported injuries.
Deputies secured an arrest warrant for Santaniello and he was later arrested without incident. Santaniello was charged with reckless endangerment in the 2nd degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and felony criminal mischief in the 3rd degree.
He was processed and later arraigned in Easton Town Court. Santaniello was released by the Court with a stay away order of protection. He is due back in Easton Court on January 11, 2017.
