[ARCHIVED] Washington County receives Spill Emergency Response Trailer

DEC Spill Trailer.jpg

The Washington County Board of Supervisors accepted an agreement with New York State and the Department of Environmental Conservation to station a state of the art DEC Spill Emergency Response trailer in Washington County.  The DEC Spill Response trailers are part of Governor Andrew Cuomo's Executive Order 125 in regards to Crude Oil transportation and safety in New York State.

The state purchased and deployed 24 of the state of the art Spill Emergency Response trailers and have stationed them strategically throughout New York State along the Crude Oil transportation corridor.

Each trailer is equipped with absorbent material, booms, and other tools necessary to control and contain a crude oil or petroleum spill. The trailers can be quickly deployed to address spill emergencies and help control and limit any resulting environmental impacts.

The Spill Emergency Response trailer will be available for response to local spill response / hazardous materials / emergency incidents in need of spill response control supplies and equipment, as well as available for any large scale emergencies in our neighboring areas.
