According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident with entrapment on State Route 40 in the Town of Hartford on December 2, 2016 at approximately 10:34 am.
A 2011 Chrysler, driven by Bannon L. Corbett, 45, of Taylor Hill Road in Granville was traveling northbound on State Route 40 when he crossed over the southbound lane and struck a tree. Corbett had to be extricated from the vehicle by members of the Hartford Fire Department. He was transported by ambulance to a landing zone at the Adamsville Church. He was then transferred to a Lifenet medical helicopter and airlifted to the Albany Medical Center with head and lower leg injuries.
Corbett’s father, William L. Corbett, 76 , also of Taylor Hill Road in Granville was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital with internal bleeding.
The circumstances and cause of the accident are under investigation.
The Hartford Fire Department and Argyle EMS assisted at the scene. Kingsbury Fire set up the landing zone.
The case is being handled by Inv. Michael McWhorter, Sgt. Michael Distasio and Deputies Cory Hurlburt and Jason Diamond.
