According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Tuesday October 18th 2016 at approximately 8:54 AM, Easton Greenwich EMS and the Middle Falls Fire Department were called to the Fort Miller Company on Wilbur Avenue in the Town of Easton for the report of a 45 year old male with traumatic injury. The male was subsequently transported to Saratoga Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Saratoga County Coroner’s Office and requested to investigate the injury. The victim has been identified as Daniel J. Ingram of Argyle. An autopsy was conducted and it was determined that Ingram died as a result of blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen.
It is believed that the Ingram had been working on a large, heavy product that was being fabricated at the plant. The product was suspended above the floor and is believed to have shifted resulting in the victim being crushed by the product. Several co-workers are believed to have lifted the heavy product off from the victim and he was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is continuing but preliminary results appear to indicate that the incident is an industrial accident.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and OSHA are conducting the investigation.
