[ARCHIVED] Moreau man arrested after sending indecent material to minor

Jeremy Anderson

According to Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Jeremy Anderson, 21, of Moreau.

Anderson has been charged with disseminating indecent material to a minor in the first degree, a class D Felony, endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor: and criminal contempt in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

Anderson is alleged to have sent obscene photos and videos over social media to a 15 year old female whom he met on social media and had started a relationship with. The investigation began after the parents of the 15 year old found her to be in possession of an Iphone that did not belong to her. It was determined that Anderson provided the phone to her in order to maintain contact with her. Anderson was previously arrested on September 16, 2016, for sexual misconduct, a class A misdemeanor, relating to this same 15 year old. He was released on that charge and an order of protection had been issued. That case is still pending prosecution in the Kingsbury Town Court.

Anderson was arraigned on the new charges in the Argyle Town Court and remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

The arrest was made by Inv. Matt Lohret of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. NYSP Queensbury BCI assisted with the investigation.
