[ARCHIVED] Man critically injured in Argyle accident

According to Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious injury motor vehicle accident.

The accident occurred on Monday, August 8, 2016 at approximately 5:40 PM on County Route 49 in the Town of Argyle.

David Higgins, 27, of Cossayuna Lake suffered serious injuries, when the 2005 Dodge Stratus he was operating veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree head on.

Higgins had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire and ems and was flown by helicopter to Albany Medical Center. His status was critical.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Argyle EMS and Fire, Cossayuna Fire and Middle Falls Fire Departments and Easton-Greenwich EMS responded and assisted with the accident.
