[ARCHIVED] Mother, daughter charged with animal cruelty

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J Murphy, two people were arrested on July 08, 2016 and charged with cruelty to animal charges as a result of an ongoing investigation. The animals were located at a residence on State Route 149 in the Town of Kingsbury. Four dogs were found to be in deplorable conditions and in need of medical attention.

The dogs were transported to Northway Animal Hospital by the Town of Kingsbury Dog Control Officer. One dog had to be euthanized and the remaining three dogs were treated and released to the North Country Animal Shelter. The home was ordered closed by the Town of Kingsbury Code Enforcement Officer.

Esther A MacMurray, 51, of State Route 149, Fort Ann NY along with her daughter Katlyn M MacMurray, 26, of Charles Street in Glens Falls were both arrested and each charged with four counts of cruelty to animals and are scheduled to appear in Kingsbury Town Court on July 20, 2016.

The investigation was conducted by Investigator Gregory A Danio with assistance from Sgt. Timothy Carroll, Deputy Joshua Whitney, Town of Kingsbury Dog Control Todd Humiston and Town of Kingsbury Code Enforcement Ross Cortese.
