[ARCHIVED] Easton man injured in motorcycle accident

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury motorcycle accident with the rider reported as face down in the roadway on Wells Road near Waite Road in the Town of Easton on July 1, 2016 at approximately 11:21 am.

Upon arriving, deputies located Alan G. Henderson, 67, of Wells Road sitting upright with injuries to his arms, legs and face. Wells had been riding a 1989 Yamaha 200 dirt bike style motorcycle just off the roadway along a cornfield when he lost control and skidded approximately 100 feet into the roadway. Henderson was reportedly riding the motorcycle to check on nearby crops.

Henderson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and possibly had some type of medical event prior to the accident.

He was transported to the Albany Medical Center by Easton-Greenwich EMS. Members from the Easton and Greenwich Fire Departments also assisted at the scene.

The accident was handled by Deputy Matt Ashton and Sgt. Todd Lemery and remains under investigation.
