[ARCHIVED] Glens Falls man arrested following domestic dispute

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on June 20, 2016, deputies arrested Ryan G. Carruthers, 31, of Ridge Road in Queensbury following an investigation into a domestic incident that originally occurred on June 17, 2016 at 4:33 pm at a residence on Fairview Lane in the Town of Kingsbury.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the location for a report of a domestic incident with injury. Upon arriving, deputies learned that Carruthers had fled the scene on a bicycle.

A female victim, Carruthers is familiar with, told deputies that Carruthers became upset and ultimately shoved and choked her making it unable for her to breathe. The victim told deputies that she also fell backwards and had an injury to her back.

Deputies began looking for Carruthers and on June 20, 2016, he was apprehended on Ridge Street in Glens Falls with the assistance of the Glens Falls Police Department.

Carruthers was transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward for processing. He was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree and harassment in the second degree.

He was arraigned in Fort Edward Town Court and sent to the Washington County Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 cash bail.

The case was handled by Deputies Jake Kearns and Jason Diamond with assistance from Officer Chris Perilli.
