Tony LeClaire with Sheriff Murphy

It's National Crime Victims' Rights Week and members of the Sheriff's Office were in attendance as victims of crime and those who serve them were honored this morning at Rainer’s B & B on the Green in Hudson Falls.

Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy presented this year's Bruce H. Hamilton Crime Victims Award to Sr. Inv. Tony LeClaire for his work on the Kayleigh Mae Cassell murder investigation in Kingsbury and the Elizabeth Gibson vehicular manslaughter case in Granville.

This Bruce H. Hamilton Crime Victims Award, honors extraordinary individuals in law enforcement, victims advocacy, D.A's Office or other criminal justice field whose work has been particularly noteworthy, and exemplifies a long-term commitment of providing both immediate crisis intervention, and comprehensive follow-up with crime victims, witnesses, family, friends, and other individuals impacted by criminal events.
