According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has established a tip line to offer citizens of Washington County the ability to assist law enforcement.
Citizens can call in tips on ongoing investigations, criminal or suspicious activity, drug information or locations of wanted suspects. Callers can remain anonymous if they wish and any information received will be kept confidential and followed up on by members of the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Tips can be submitted by calling the 24 hour tip line and leaving a message on the voice mail, which is routinely checked. The tip line number is: (518) 746-2522.
In the event you do not want to remain anonymous and would like to speak with an investigator, you can leave your name and phone number on the voice mail and a return call will be made. The new crime tip line is a way to get involved without being involved. It is not for emergency situations and callers needing to report emergencies should call 911.
