[ARCHIVED] Cambridge woman charged with felony

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Wednesday February 3, 2016, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Silvia Espinosa, age 32, of Cambridge, New York. Espinosa was charged with grand larceny in the 4th degree, a class E Felony.

Based on the results of an investigation by the Washington County Department of Social Services and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Espinosa is accused of failing to report her income while receiving public assistance benefits. As a result, Espinosa received $1,845 in benefits she was not entitled to.

Espinosa was arrested and processed at the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Fort Edward Court on February 16th 2016 at 1:30 PM.

The case is being forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and possible Grand Jury action and possible additional charges. The arrest was made by Sr. Investigator Tony LeClaire.
