[ARCHIVED] Hudson Falls woman arrested in welfare fraud case

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Tuesday December 15, 2015, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Aprile Warner, 30, of Hudson Falls. Warner was charged with grand larceny in the 4th degree and welfare fraud in the 4th degree, both class E Felonies.

Based on the results of an investigation by the Washington County Department of Social Services and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Mrs. Warner is accused of falsely reporting the number of people residing in her residence, while collecting welfare benefits. As a result Mrs. Warner received $1,368.57 in temporary assistance benefits she was not entitled to.

Warner was processed and released on an appearance ticket for a future court date in the Town of Fort Edward Court. The arrest was made by Investigator Kristen Hardy.
