[ARCHIVED] Vermont woman arrested, charged with felonies

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Wednesday October 21, 2015, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Eva M. Young, 55, of Rutland, Vermont. Young was charged with two counts of forgery in the 2nd degree , class D felonies, two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the 2nd degree, class D felonies and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the 5th degree class A misdemeanors.

Young is accused of possessing checks in Washington County, New York that were reported stolen in Rutland, Vermont. Young is accused of completing two of the stolen checks and then forging the signature of the owner at the Hannaford store in the Town of Kingsbury.

Young was arrested and processed at the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward. She was arraigned in Kingsbury Town Court and remanded to the Washington County Jail for lack of bail.

The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and possible action of the Grand Jury. The arrest was made by Deputy John LaTour and Inv. Michael McWhorter.
