[ARCHIVED] Submission of forged documents leads to arrest

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Wednesday August 26, 2015, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bethany Poulin, 36, who reported being homeless. Poulin was charged with offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree, a class E felony.

Based on the results of an investigation by the Washington County Department of Social Services and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Poulin is accused of submitting paperwork that was determined to be forged.

Poulin was arrested, processed at the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward and later arraigned in Fort Edward Town Court. She was remanded to the facility in lieu of $2,500 or $5,000 bail. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for possible additional charges. The arrest was made by Sheriff’s Investigator Kristen Hardy.
