[ARCHIVED] Two injured in Kingsbury accident

KINGSBURY - According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Dix Avenue in the Town of Kingsbury at 1:49 pm.

Edward E. Engle, 80 , of Margaret Street in Hudson Falls was operating a 2013 GMC Terrain, west on Dix Avenue when he swerved into the eastbound lane and struck another vehicle which was traveling east. Engle had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital by Bay Ridge EMS with head, chest and leg pain.

The second vehicle, a 2003 Kia Sedona, was being driven by Richard L. Barlow, 69, of Waite Road in Hudson Falls. Barlow also had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported to Glens Falls Hospital by Empire Ambulance with chest and neck pain.

A portion of Dix Avenue was closed for approximately an hour while the scene was being cleared. Engle was ticketed for failing to keep right. Granville and Fort Edward EMS along with Kingsbury and Hudson Falls Fire Departments were also on scene assisting. The accident was handled by Deputies Don Jett, John LaTour and Sgt. Todd Lemery.
