[ARCHIVED] Names released in motorcycle accident

SR4 update


UPDATE - According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the names of those involved in the personal injury motorcycle accident have been released. The accident occurred on State Route 4 in the Town of Fort Edward on July 10, 2015 at approximately 7:50pm.

Daniel W. Saville, 58, and Mary Saville, 51, of Green Barn Road in Kingsbury were riding on a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle and were traveling southbound on State Route 4, when they struck a deer which ran into their lane of travel. Both were ejected from the motorcycle and found lying in the roadway.


The passenger on the motorcycle, Mary Saville, suffered injuries to her spine, shoulder and head. She was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital by the Fort Edward Rescue Squad. Daniel Saville was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with serious chest, neck and leg injuries. The deer was killed in the accident.

The Fort Edward Fire Department along with members from Easton- Greenwich EMS also assisted on scene.

The case is being handled by Deputy Kyle Kolar.
