According to Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, the victim of the motor vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 22 near Scott’s Lake Road in the Town of Salem at about 2:56PM on June 27, 2015, has been identified.

Clarence W. Disorda, 93 of Cambridge, was a passenger in a 2000 Chevrolet Cavelier driven by Helen Holton, 81 also from Cambridge. Disorda died as a result of the injuries he sustained. It was determined that Disorda was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. Holton suffered injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Venter by helicopter. As of June 29, 2015, she was listed in stable condition.

Holton was traveling northbound, when a 2012 Ford F150, traveling southbound being driven by Rory Birrell, 47 of Queensbury veered into the northbound lane. Birrell was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway and turned into the path of Holton’s vehicle.

Birrell was treated at the scene by Salem EMS for apparent minor injuries.

Neither speed nor impairment was a contributing factor. No tickets have been issued and the accident remains under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office is unaware of any witnesses but anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 747-4623.
