Man charged with felonies after being found in possession of stolen excavator and trailer

INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED: Jerrick P. Jones

INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jerrick P. Jones, age 37, for two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony. An investigation determined that Jones was found to be in possession of a 2015 Kubota excavator and a 2009 Cross Country flatbed trailer, that were reported stolen from the City of Troy back in October 2022. 

The excavator and trailer that were reported have an estimated value exceeding $3,000.

Charges filed: Two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree

Additional Charges filed: Two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Class B Felony) One count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm (Class E Felony) Two Counts of Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)

Jones was arraigned in Central Arraignment and was released on his on own recognizance is scheduled to appear in the Village of Whitehall Court at a later date. Other arrests are likely in this case.
