Update on theft of firearms from Calamity Janes

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Friday, October 21st, 2022, at approximately 4:33 AM, the Washington County Sheriff’s office responded to a burglary and subsequent theft of firearms from Calamity Janes Firearms and Fine Shoes on Dix Avenue in the Town of Kingsbury. This led to an extensive investigation by the Sheriff’s Office assisted by the New York State Police and the ATF. 

To date, this investigation has led to the execution of numerous search warrants, arrests and recovery of stolen and illegally possessed firearms and drugs. The following people have been arrested as a result of this investigation:

Charged in Washington County by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:

Martin R. Taft – age 47 – From Salem, NY. – Charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 1st Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree for the Burglary.

Jonathan E. Combs – age 42 – From Wells, Vt. – Charged with Charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 1st Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree for the Burglary.

Billie Jo Parker – age 47 – From Hudson Falls, NY. – Charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 1st Degree.

Sean C. Parmeter – age 55 – From Hudson Falls, NY. - Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree.

Penny R. Phillips – age 49 – From Cambridge, NY. – Charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.

Robert A. Crosby – age 34 – From Queensbury, NY. – Charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.

Kwahpreme R. Mitchell – age 31 – From Cohoes, NY. – Charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree.

Andrea Leombruno – age 39 – From Queensbury, NY. – Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.

Ginger Wood – age 32 – From Watervilet, NY. - Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.

Morgan Harris – age 29 – From Hudson Falls, NY. – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and a Violation of Probation.

David P. Nowlan – age 50 – From Queensbury, NY. – Tampering with Evidence, Conspiracy 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree.

A total of 31 handguns were stolen from Calamity Janes Firearms and Fine Shoes on October 21st and 1 shotgun had been stolen approximately 1 week prior to this Burglary. To date, 11 handguns and the shotgun have been recovered.

During the course of this investigation, 4 additional long guns and two additional handguns were recovered that were not related to this Burglary but were illegally possessed. Also, during the course of this investigation, approximately 10oz of Cocaine, 500 bags of Heroin and assorted pills were seized.

In addition to assistance from the NYSP and the ATF, our agency was assisted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Hudson Falls Police Department, Granville Police Department, Glens Falls Police Department, the Vermont State Police and Manchester Police Department in Vermont.
