According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Tuesday, January 27th 2015, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dylan Paquette, 23 and Anthony Jones, 19, both from Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Paquette was charged with Burglary 2nd, a class C Felony and Grand Larceny 4th a class E Felony,

Jones was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th, a class A Misdemeanor.

At approximately 3 AM on Tuesday, January 27th 2015, a Post Star delivery driver noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of the Kingsbury General Store on State Route 4 in the hamlet of Kingsbury. The driver also saw a subject running away from the store and called in a report to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene and discovered that someone had broken into the Kingsbury General Store but the vehicle had fled the scene. The store owners reported the suspect(s) had stolen a jar of donations for the Make a Wish Foundation and donations for JJ Mattison (the boy from Fort Ann that was involved in a lawn mower accident) as well as cigarettes, rolled change and other cash totaling approximately $1,390.

Due to the description given by the Post Star delivery driver, K9 Deputy Travis Earl and Sgt. Ryan Pedone from Hudson Falls Police Department were familiar with a vehicle matching the description. They were able to locate the vehicle and two suspects who admitted their involvement in the crime.

The missing cigarettes and approximately $460 in cash were recovered. The subjects told Sheriff’s Deputies that the remainder of the money was used to purchase Heroin that they used earlier that evening.

Anthony Jones was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Hudson Falls Court at a later date.

Dylan Paquette was arraigned by Judge Keenan in the Town of Kingsbury Court. He was remanded to the Washington County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 secure bond.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hudson Falls Police Department.
