[ARCHIVED] Ballston Spa man killed in dirt bike accident

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Thursday June 4 2015, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Parker MX track on Anthony Road in the Town of Greenwich to investigate a fatal dirt bike accident.

The accident occurred at 6:02pm, when Thomas Gale, age 31, from Ballston Spa was riding his dirt bike on the track. Gale was unable to negotiate the landing on a triple jump and was thrown from his bike onto the track. Gale sustained chest and head injuries from the crash. Immediately after crash other riders came to his aid and initiated CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived.

Gale was pronounced dead at scene by Washington County Coroner Gariepy. The accident was investigated by Dep. Matt Ashton, Dep. Kyle Kolar, Sgt. Dave Buxton and Inv. Michael McWhorter. Assisting at the scene were New York State Police, Easton Greenwich EMS and Middle Falls First responders.
