INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED: Shane P. Stephens Age:29 Schuylerville, New York 

INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shane P. Stephens, of Schuylerville, New York for Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony. The arrest was made after an investigation into an assault that occurred inside the Washington County Jail on August 9th, 2022. 

Stephens was found to have intentionally caused physical injury to a fellow inmate while housed in the same unit within the jail. 

Stephens was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment on August 25th, 2022 and held in the facility per a prior commitment. Stephens is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fort Edward Court on a later date.
