INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, Jeffrey S. Austin, (54) was arrested for Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony and Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, after an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office. It is alleged that Austin attempted to purchase a firearm and filed paperwork with the firearms dealer while having an active Order of Protection against him. Austin provided incorrect information as part of an application to purchase the firearm. Austin was released on an Appearance Ticket to appear in the Town of Hebron Court on a later date.
