INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a reported larceny case from the Town of Fort Edward.  

On June 2^nd, 2022, a local business located on Broadway in the Town of Fort Edward reported a larceny of new aluminum construction pieces as well as at least 15 small electric motors. The value of the items stolen was reported to be over $4,000.   

The business captured the theft on camera and an investigation was started. Assisted by tips from the public, the suspect was quickly identified as Jeffrey T. Jones, 21, of Country Lane in Fort Ann. He turned himself in at the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward where he was arrested, processed and later released at Centralized arraignment.  

Charges Filed: Grand larceny 3^rd degree (felony), Criminal Trespass 3^rd degree (misdemeanor)
