[ARCHIVED] Woman injured in Fort Ann motorcycle accident

Ft Ann accident

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle accident on State Route 4, in the area of Walker's Farm Supply, in the Town of Fort Ann on Saturday afternoon at 2:27 pm (June 6, 2015).

The Sheriff’s Office received calls reporting a female lying in a ditch alongside the roadway. Sheriff’s deputies determined that Nichole L. Zimmerman, 26, of Bluebird Road in South Glens Falls had been north on State Route 4 on her 2006 Kawasaki sport bike. She told deputies that she hit her front brake to avoid other motorcycles in front of her which caused her to be thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle continued on for approximately 75 yards until coming to rest in a ditch on the east side of the roadway.

Zimmerman was taken to Glens Falls Hospital by Fort Ann EMS with arm and leg pain. Zimmerman was ticketed for operating out of class for not having a motorcycle endorsement on her license. Traffic was limited to one lane while the scene was being cleared.

Sheriff's Deputy Bill Holcomb is handling the case. The Fort Ann Fire Department was also on the scene assisting.
