INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED: 

1. Deceased: Deborah Moffitt Age:73 Address: Salem, New York

2. Deceased: David Moffitt Age:66 

INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of Deborah and David Moffitt who resided in the Town of Salem. The Sheriff’s Office with the Department of Social Service’s responded to the Moffitt’s residence on Monday January 10th resulting from a call from a concerned party. The Moffitt’s were located deceased at their home. 

At this time an active investigation continues into the cause of death but it does not appear any criminal activity took place. The Sheriff’s Office asks if anyone with information to please contact the Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit.

Sheriff Murphy asks that during these colder months to please check on neighbors and family and that if any concerns are noticed, contact the Sheriff’s Office or the Washington County Department of Social Services to initiate services to help those in need.
