INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a 2-car motor vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of State Route 149 and State Route 40 in the Town of Hartford Tuesday morning.
Following an investigation, it was determined that Jennifer Martindale, age 40, of State Route 4 in Whitehall was east on State Route 149 and after stopping at the stop sign at the intersection of State Route 40, she pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Jennifer L. Cook, age 35 of Madison Street in Granville that was southbound on State Route 40.
Martindale and a passenger, Cody Martindale, age 19, of Main Street Granville were evaluated by EMS on scene and were not transported.
Hartford Fire helped extricate Cook from the vehicle and she was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital by Argyle EMS with arm and chest injuries. A passenger in Cook’s vehicle was also transported by Argyle EMS for evaluation.
Jennifer Martindale was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way. A portion of State Route 40 was closed while the accident scene was being cleared.
