[ARCHIVED] Veteran patrol sergeant presented with award

Sgt Spiezio award

Each year, The American Legion gives it's "Law Enforcement Officer of the Year" award to a well-rounded law enforcement officer who has exceeded the duty requirements expected of his or her position and has demonstrated a distinct pattern of community service coupled with professional achievement.

On Thursday May 14, 2015, Sgt. Nick Spiezio was presented with this prestigious award in a ceremony at the Hudson Falls American Legion, Post 575. Sgt. Spiezio was chosen for this his 30 plus years of service to the residents of Washington County. Most recently, Sgt. Spiezio was commended for his efforts at the scene of a wanted fugitive that had crashed his vehicle into the Hudson River and fled on foot in the Village of Fort Edward.
