INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 149 in the Town of Granville on Thursday morning for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Reports indicated that a vehicle had crashed into a residential structure with unknown injuries. Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies found a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado partially inside a residence.

The driver was located outside of the vehicle and was identified as Chantel M. Noble. Noble had been traveling alone westbound on State Route 149 when her vehicle went off the roadway and hit the edge of a ditch causing her to over-correct, spin out and skid back across the roadway. The vehicle then stuck a tree before continuing and striking the residence. She told Deputies that she swerved to miss another vehicle. She was transported by Granville EMS for a complaint of neck pain.

The homeowner was in a bedroom inside the residence at the time of the crash and came out to find the vehicle partially in the living room area. The homeowner was uninjured.

Code Enforcement Officials arrived on scene and deemed the structure safe. The exact cause and circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation. At this time, drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
