INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cammy Sanders, age 57 for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 3rd, a class A misdemeanor. The arrest occurred after a joint investigation between the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Department of Social Services Fraud Unit. The charge alleges Sanders submitted a shelter verification form with a forged signature in an effort to obtain temporary assistance benefits from the Department of Social Services. Sanders was processed at the Law Enforcement Center and released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Fort Edward Court at a later date.
