Investigations
It is the goal of the Investigations Unit to make sure that all clients who apply for benefits receive the benefits that they are entitled to, while those who attempt to fraudulently receive benefits are held accountable. The accountability happens in a variety of ways:
  • The client may sign a Disqualification Consent Agreement that would disqualify them from benefits for a period of time
  • They may be made to repay
  • They may be charged with criminal charges
The unit works toward the most cost effective way to hold applicants and recipients accountable.
