Mission Statement

The Board of Elections is a bipartisan office with 2 appointed commissioners representing the state’s major political parties.

The board is charged with:
  • Administration of elections for county, town, state and federal public offices
  • Receiving candidate designating petitions
  • Administering absentee ballots
  • Compiling and reporting election results
  • Training election inspectors
  • Coordinating election activities with town clerks
